“I began to learn that I really suffered from anxiety when I was a freshman here at the University of Minnesota. I think I first noticed during first semester because of all the stress of moving to school, starting new classes and trying to make friends. I was really just trying to do everything all at once. All that stress kind of built up and cumulatively, it felt really hard for me to deal with. That’s when I learned that I had to learn how to manage my anxiety. Today, I try to see a therapist every month at Boynton. I use the Learn to Live resource from Boynton and that was really helpful for me because they  teach you a lot of thought inspection tools and that’s been really helpful for me in terms of my anxiety.”- Kathleen Wang (4th Year)

“I think the first moment when I realized that I needed to start taking care of my mental health was my first year in college, fall semester. I just started to not feel motivated, but I could tell that something bigger was going on. I was getting physically tired and I did not feel pleasure in anything I liked to do. I started having physical symptoms and I was getting sick all the time. That was when I started realizing I needed to take care of my mental health and learn more about it because I didn’t know that I had mental health challenges."- Thi Bui (3rd Year)
